In January 2026 VERSE secured two important contracts with ITER Organisation, with a total value exceeding €2.5M.
🔹 Together with our long-time Korean partners Mobiis, we have been selected to develop the prototype and first production of the ITER Disruption Mitigation System (DMS) Instrumentation & Control.
🔹 To close an excellent week, ITER has also selected VERSE’s mechanical and nuclear engineering team to carry out the performance, qualification, and integration of tokamak diagnostic components, with a strong focus on safety-related systems. The mission: ensure compliant and reliable integration with diagnostic ports and associated payloads, fully aligned with safety and project-specific requirements.

A team of VERSE engineers has kicked off this month the development of the new Vacuum Monitoring System for the recently commissioned JT-60SA tokamak. This ambitious 14-month project will deliver a fully integrated control system, designed and procured by our experts collaborating seamlessly across our offices in Spain, France, the UK, and Japan.

Creating state-of-the-art protection systems for extremely complex machines, such as tokamaks and particle accelerators, is at the core of VERSE’s raison d’être. Today we are very proud to announce the signature of a new contract between the ITER Organization and VERSE for the development of the tokamak interlock system.
Our software and hardware engineers have already joined the ITER team, collaborating on the development of this mission-critical system designed to protect the world’s largest nuclear fusion project.
